I'm taking 3 classes this semester, well, 2 classes and choir. Both are art classes, Photography 2 and Design 1. I love both of them, and for the most part, enjoy going to them. I am so beyond frustrated in the design class though.

I am the only person in the class that has consistently been prepared for every class. It's gotten progressively worse as the semester has gone along, and came to a head today. I was the only person in class with all the materials we needed to do out current assignment. There are 10 people in the class. So, I am the only person that will prepared for next class.

The worst part of all of this is that I have to sit through this class and listen to everyone act surprised day after day when they don't have all their supplies, or don't have their homework done, etc... We've known since the first day of class what supplies we were going to need, and at the beginning of each assignment, we get a handout with all the instructions and what we need to do each.

The stuff we need for the current assignment is a special paper that you can only get online. It was sold out for a while at the beginning of the semester, but I kept checking back and was able to get it about a month ago. Even the teacher kept checking, and she knew it was back in stock. She told everyone else today that they have to have it, and there is no excuse for them not to since we've known about it since the first day of class. I hope she follows through.

Is it bad that I took great pleasure in flaunting the fact that I was prepared for class today? I think I may have been a little smug about it, and that's not normally something I do, but I was tired of the crap, and wanted to send a message. I finally told the teacher today how frustrated I was, and she understood. She is too, especially since the other classes had their supplies. I feel bad for her because this is her first year teaching here, and this looks really bad. I've never seen this before in any classes I've ever taken.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm older than everyone in the class besides the teacher.

This sucks! About a month or so ago, the fan on my laptop started making funny noises, and at first it was intermittent, but then it got to be all the time. Well, hubby told me last night that it was probably about to die, and he offered me his laptop that he has only used a couple of times since he bought it. I said I'd let him know if it got worse or whatever, but that I'd probably go that route instead of buying a new one.

Well, this morning when I turned my laptop on, it made a strange noise and then I got a screen that said that the cooling fan wasn't working properly and it wasn't recommended that I continue and use the computer. Of course, I went ahead and used it, and told hubby what had happened. He spent the better part of the day updating his laptop and deleting stuff off of it that I didn't need or wouldn't use.

Luckily, when I first noticed the fan problem, I backed up a lot of my stuff on an external harddrive. I'm so glad I'd done that. Instead of taking all day to back everything up, it only took me about an hour to backup the stuff I've added since.

I'm on it now. It's a slightly newer version of mine. It's nice, and the keys aren't as loud. It's amazing how fast things load on it. I hadn't realized how slow mine had gotten. I still have a lot of stuff that I need to load onto it, but I'll have to stretch that out over the next few days. I also need to upload Photoshop. I hope the disc I have will let me since I've already used it on my other computer. I really need a new version, but that'll have to do for now.

The timing of this couldn't have been worse. I have a paper due tomorrow, and I still have to finish up my art of the [ profile] marvel_bang. If worse comes to worse, I can still use the other laptop, but I don't trust it very much at the moment. I'm crossing my fingers that everything works out and I don't have any issues with anything.

ETA: I've also been downgraded on my Microsoft Office. I had 2010 on my laptop. This one has 2007. Nothing I can do about it now, as the one I had was a 1 use version. :(

Here are some of the photos I’ve taken in my photography class this semester. They were shot with black & white film in a manual SLR camera. The negatives were then processed and developed by me. I also printed the photographs myself. This is only a small sample of what I’ve done so far.

The pics I took of the photos aren’t the best quality, but the actual photos are much clearer and more in focus.

I had a bit of an adventure today. I live in an apartment so we have a dumpster that we have to put our trash in. Well, I took the trash out on my way to go pick up some food. I had put my car keys in my pocket, but a couple of the key chains were hanging out. I grabbed the bag and swung it in order to get it into the dumpster, and the drawstring caught on one of the key chains, pulled the keys from my pocket, and into the dumpster they went. Now, this isn't a small dumpster. It's about 7ish feet tall, and it has sliding doors on the sides that are about 4 feet up from the bottom. I had to pull myself up and through the hole on the side, untangle the keys from the drawstring, and then pull myself up and back through the hole. Luckily, the trash had just been picked up and so there was only the bag I put in and one other, so I didn't have to dig or anything. Unfortunately, there was nothing to hold onto once I was inside the dumpster, so I had to hook my hands on the outside of the top and try to pull myself up that way. Didn't quite work that well, and I ended up sitting hard on the edge of the hole/door. Then when I jumped down, I landed in a mud puddle, so I splashed mud all over my jeans.

When I finally got back to the apartment, I had to clean myself, my shoes, and my keys. I also started to hurt, and realized I have quite a bruise on the back of my left thigh from when I sat hard on the edge of the door, and one on the top of my left foot. I have no idea how I got that one. I'm a little sore all over. It's been a while since I've done anything strenuous.

I don't plan on doing anything like that again if I can help it.

So, um... I start classes tomorrow. Yep, I went and enrolled in school. I needed to get out and do something, and since I haven't been able to get a job here, I'm taking fun classes. Only 3, well 1 is choir, so 2 classes. One is a drawing class and the other is an acting class. My first class is at 8am tomorrow morning. I have to get up at stupid o'clock, so I hope it's worth it.

Wish me luck!

Reposting this as it's December now, and it says to in Step 3. It's not quite 2 weeks till, but whatever.

Step One
♥ Make an LJ post. It can be public or friends only, whatever you’re most comfortable with. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes, and these wishes can be anything - from simple (a fan fiction written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new laptop or car). Just make sure these are wishes for things you really truly want.

Step Two
♥ Skim through your friends list and see who has posted their own wish lists. Then - and this is the most important part - if you find a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make sure that person’s wish comes true. Sometimes a person’s trash is another person’s treasure. If you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you’re never going to use, give it to someone who wants it.

Step Three
♥ Post this wish list any time after November 1st. Then repost it two weeks before Christmas.

♥ You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday fairy - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not, it's your call.

♥ There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

I realized I hadn't mentioned this yet, so here goes.

We are going to Orlando tomorrow, and taking our nieces and nephews with us. We were actually supposed to leave today, but circumstances beyond our control forced us to push everything back a day.

I'm really excited, not only because we're going to the Disney parks and Universal, but we're going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

I'm worried about Debby sitting out in the Gulf, and hoping that it goes East instead of West. There is already a lot of rain and wind along the coast.

The biggest thing that has me excited though, is the fact that my nieces and nephews have never been, and this may be their only chance to, at least while they are still young. I can't wait to see their faces when we get there. Which reminds me, I need to charge my camera.
