doing another re-watch of the classic cartoon. we tried to do one before by renting the disks, but i think netflix dropped then or didn't have all of them, so now we're doing in on netflix streaming. some thoughts;

the animation on some episodes is messed up due to the fact that they sent stuff to japan.

j. michael straczynski wrote a lot of episodes. including what many consider the worst/weirdest episode about a man that lives near a chicken restaurant, is driven mad by the smell & then summons a demon to rid the world of chickens.
my brother said the trivia said the producers were concerned with his mental health after reading the script. but like my brother said: "who's crazier, the guy who wrote it? or the people who approved it?"

david gerrold (writer of the star trek: tos episode the trouble with tribbles) wrote an episode. interestingly enough the one he wrote deals with the trouble a creature that multiplies can cause.

there was no pilot, not really. the "pilot" was animated music video of the characters, more or less how they ended up looking on the show, set to the ghostbusters theme song. the full lenght too, not the shorter one used for the opening of the animated series.

* i feel this should be the subtitle of the 1984 movie. that thing that come out last year should not share the same name, IMHO. instead of a re-boot they should of did a continuation. one of the women wins a mega-jackpot lottery, buys a ghostbusters franchise, maybe in los angeles, & they go from there. the guys could of done cameos as their character, except for harold ramis (r.i.p) & then gone on that way

Well, because all the TV shows are scattered everywhere, nothing starts at the same time, I am very grateful for cable's episodes on demand, because last night I saw an ad for something and went "OH darn, I missed the SERIES finale for THE STRAIN!" So it was there, I watched it, sorta guessed who would self-sacrifice but hadn't seen the Master taking him over. Even though he'd been my favorite character, I was okay with him being incinerated by the Bomb because it all sort of led up to that.... And because it's on Sunday evening, and I don't watch much TV on Sunday nights, I forgot THE LAST SHIP, which I got caught up with. Watched first hour of EMMYS. Liked Stephen Colbert as host but the awards, well, WAY too rushed and I didn't know most of the nominees, so went to LAST SHIP which was a rather intense episode. Totally enjoyed BBC America's BROADCHURCH season 3... love it when people can look like real people and not perfect barbie doll types, which is what US tv is full of.

Z NATION is back on SyFy soon but nothing on that channel has enticed me back. Usually just too dark, literally, as you can build an interstellar spaceship but you can't find lightbulbs. Didn't care for LETHAL WEAPON at first but now I'm sorta fond of it.

That's about it. Darn if I can remember what else is showing on TV at the moment. Also spending way too much time on the Weather Channel with all the hurricanes, hoping Jose actually sticks around for a few days as it's pressure would then push Maria out into the ocean, otherwise.... gah, do not want to think of it!

Mini Wetterhorn

Pattern by Tereena Clarke of Artecy Cross Stitch based on a painting by Joseph Anton Koch.

Stitch parking level 2: achievement unlocked. I can't tell you how many times I went to park a thread and found another thread already parked there. I think I properly fixed everything I caught, but goodness only knows if this looks anything like it was supposed to.

The second picture is a distance shot because this pattern was done in the pointillist style, so the farther away you stand, the more detailed it looks.

I'd already part-edited Wild Raspberries so it didn't take too long to get it ready to post. The sequel Wintergreen will take a week or so to get ready.

When runaway Daniel Seaton inadvertently trespasses on Tyler Edward's land, Tyler nearly shoots him on sight.

Tyler's got a lot of years under his belt, and his past doesn't let him accept strangers easily. Dan's situation is dire enough that Tyler takes him home, at least for a little while, and that turns out to be a good decision when Tyler's injured and needs Dan's help.

Tyler's learning to trust, and Dan's settling in to a new life, but things aren't always what they seem. Between interfering friends, injuries, and their attraction to each other, Tyler and Dan have plenty of to deal with even before Tyler's previous career returns to haunt them. Can they overcome what lies in the past to have a future with each other?

I got my Torquere books back and after reworking one to sell decided that I'd edit them to bring them in line with my current style (way less... and --) and offer them free as a thank you to all the kind readers out there.

The first of them, Drawing Closer, is also my first novel, published back in 2006. It's at AO3 and it's mild BDSM.

Charles is a professor, an expatriate Brit, and a man with a past. He's put that aside, living the peaceful life he thinks he needs. He figures he's happy.

Until he meets Gray Collins, that is. Persistent, stubborn, and hot, Gray turns Charles's world upside down and brings him a future he never expected, with links to a past he's tried to forget.

found this vid of a star trek: voyager 20th reunion (i'm so old) at space city comic con in houston.

and found out some things;
  • for st. patrick's day kate mulgrew would give a big party with irish food. and a bottle of whiskey to each of the main cast.
  • every male had the hots for 7 of 9
  • robert beltran never bothered to learn his lines
  • garrett wang thinks that the VOY finale should've been gut the first hour, then at the end "to be continued at a theater near you" would appear on the screen. the rest would be a big screen movie. instead of whatever crappy TNG movie we got around that time.
  • the uniforms look nice while standing, but were uncomfortable while sitting as the came up in the crotch area. it was very uncomfortable for the men.
  • the whole 7/chakotay thing happened because after the episode where 7 has a holodeck program to practice being human & chakotay is her boyfriend, beltran said something to jerri rayn like: "our characters will never kiss for real. you're boyfriend will never write it, he's too jealous." (brannon braga, writer/producer of VOY was her boyfriend at the time) after getting the script, beltran got a note from braga; "who's jealous?"
  • during the last weeks of the show all the actors got a send off with cake & a large group of people being emotional, except for kate mulgrew. they were literally dismantling the set around her. after she was done with her finale scene, someone form the dark said something like; that's a wrap. thanks for seven years kate. there was no cake or a large group to send her off. but then robert picardo appeared & said: "lets go for a drink."

that last part made me so sad. the studio didn't know what to do with a female captain half of the time and at the end she got nothing in the way of acknowledgment for all she put into the show.
