Flute's Moʻolelo

I guess it all started early this morning. We were woken up by the sound of a loud explosion in the distance. That's when the power went out. Luckily, we have a backup generator.

The local channels have been out since then, and many of the satellite channels are static. We've been able to pick up little bits here and there, but it appears that the whole world has been affected! I'm surprised I still have my internet.

My best friend called not long after that, but we were cut off. Haven't heard from her since, and that was at 7am. I haven't heard or been able to get in touch with my parents all day!

Thank god we went to Walmart yesterday. We have plenty of food to last us at least a week; maybe 10 days, if we stretch it.

Poor Pete is freaking out, and we can't let him go outside. Dolly ran off. She's probably safer than any of us.

It doesn't look like they've made it all the way out here yet, but it's only a matter of time. We've boarded up and barracaded all the doors and window. We aren't taking any chances.

I never thought I'd ever get to use these rifles my mom left here. They're loaded and ready!

I will leave updates here, if I'm able. If we make it through this...

ETA: We just heard another explosion. This one was a lot closer. There are also a few car alarms going off. They sound awfully close by.
