The wind has arrived. No rain yet, but that should be here soon. When I woke up about an hour ago, I looked out the window, and the sky was purple! WTF??!!

There was a possibility that I would be going in to work today, but just talked to one of my co-workers, and she's staying at home. So, I'm staying home as well.

Things are looking pretty bad in south Texas. Severe flooding in Galveston and other coastal areas. There were hundreds of rescues there yesterday before the storm even hit. They are reporting that at least 1800 homes in Galveston are flooded. The historic Brennan's restaurant in Houston burnt down last night. There were also several other fires reported in the area, but nothing could be done because the fire crews couldn't get to them. There are also tons of windows that have been blown out of the highrise buildings downtown.

I'm hoping that our electricity doesn't go out.

My prayers and well wishes are with all the people who decided to stay and ride out this storm. [livejournal.com profile] tejas, let us know how you are, when you can.

That's all for now. If I don't lose power, I'll be around for most of the day.

I'm glad that you're okay. I don't blame you for not going to work.

It's really windy now, so I'm glad I stayed.

Glad to see you['re okay. I wouldn't go to work with a hurricane coming! Purple sky? Eek!

The purple sky looked cool, but was freaky!

The wind has picked up a lot, but still not too bad.

I was watching stuff on tv. Aweful! You aren't near any big rivers are you? Stay safe! (You can come up here and stay anytime!)

Um...yeah, there is a river nearby. It's hasn't been known to flood to bad, though, so that's good.

I'd love to come up there, but flying out of here now will be a little hard since they've all been cancelled.

I'm such a weather junkie.

Hurricanes are so *COOL*!

At least, if you survive them intact. :-)

They are cool to look at, but not so fun to sit through.

I loved it last night. But, like I said, I'm a weather junkie.
