LMAO!!! It's not as bad as you think. It just sounds that way. Basically, it's this tool you stick into the mouthpiece to get dents out of it!! The 'shank' is the thin part of the mouthpiece which you stick into the instrument!!

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's got War of the Worlds, V: The Series, Predator, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Independence Day, E.T., Jaws
And a couple other things that have escaped my memory...
