Oh boy!

Some of y'all already know that I just got a new job. Well, it starts tomorrow morning. I will be substitute teaching at a small town high school as their band director. The real band director broke his ankle a few weeks ago. It's a 45 minutes commute, so I'll have to get up way too fracking early in the mornings for awhile. While I am nervous about it, I'm excited too. It'll be my first actual teaching job. It will only be for a month or so, but it's still experience, and it looks good on the old resume!

This also means that many of my Friday nights will be taken up with football games. This means NO SCIFI FRIDAY!!!!! AAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I have told my mom that it is necessary that she buy a VCR so that she can record all of my shows for me! She said okay, but we'll see!!

You're going to be wonderful in the role! Just remember that some kids think it's smart to try to trip up a sub teacher. Stay calm and show no fear. ;o) Send the problem kids out of the room if need be, but since it's band kids, I sincerely doubt you'll have any. They take Band because they love music. Slackers can't play instruments...they PlayStation. :oD

I've already been reassured that I'm going to have some help while I'm there, so I'm not too worried about things. Just got off the phone with the band director and I think things will be just fine.
