So, according to the National Weather Service, we are supposed to have a 100% chance of rain today. Normally, this wouldn't bother me. I don't mind rain so much. I could do without severe weather, though.

Well, let's just say that I've never lived anywhere that there was an actual possibility of flooding. So not cool!! I'll just say that my icon is a good representation of how I feel at the moment.

Pics back here )

So, you see, I'm a little stressed at the moment. I'm just hoping that since the rain has slacked off, that it'll have a chance to drain off some.

ETA: The other car was just moved. I can't move my car though. The water is deeper behind it that the water it's sitting in.

It's been raining here for the past 3-4 days. Thank you so very much, Tropical Storm Lee, for deciding to sit off the coast for a whole day and just spit water at us.

For the most part, it hasn't really been that bad here. Not nearly as bad as down on the coast. Right now, we are getting lots of wind. Fun times.

Well, now for the main purpose of this post. This is what I woke up to this morning:

Actually, it didn't look that bad when I first saw it. This pic was taken about 10 minutes ago. At the top of the pic is a lovely bubble (where the ceiling has actually split). Then further back is where there is actual water dripping. The stain on the far right isn't dripping, yet. Luckily, it's not directly over the bed. Here's the thing. We live in a first floor apartment, and no one lives in the one above us.

I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man over. He went upstairs and discovered that the window was leaking. So he made sure it was closed, but he couldn't do anything else until the rain stopped. He said they would come back tomorrow and check if it's dry. Once the rain and wind have stopped, they can seal the window better and then repair any damage to the floor, our ceiling.

The fact that it looks worse now than it did when he came does not give me much confidence that it'll be better tomorrow. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Yep, fun times.

Thanks for your replies. Everything is fine. I went outside earlier, and you couldn't even tell there was any bad weather last night. The case isn't the same elsewhere in town. It's not as bad as they were making it out to be last night. Mostly trees and powerlines down, and a lot of people without power. I'm not planning on going anywhere today.

ETA: Taking a break from LJ for the weekend. I need to get some writing done on my Big Bang, and this place is too distracting.

We just had a tornado hit on the northern side of town. It went through downtown, and then crossed the river and hit the AFB. Lots of damage and trees down, and lots of power outages. Luckily, I'm well away from where it hit, and my parent's just got some hail. My dad is wondering if he's gonna be able to go to work tomorrow. The storm hit near the hospital he works at and parts are without power. There was also a fire reported on one of the upper floors. He's fully expecting to get a call in the morning to help move patients.

I missed Harper's Island because of all the weather interruptions, but I have to say I'm really good at reading a weather radar now.
